Know how to confuse and upset a lot of people?
Change their milk!!!
Milk isn't just milk. I totally agree that you can't just go in the grocery store and pick out any old milk carton/brand and be satisfied. I'm a fan of organic milk that you have to get at a Whole Foods or Central Market. Yes, it makes me feel healthier and like I'm indirectly saving the planet.
At least the minds behind this merger had the right Idea and let customers change that not much has changed....

What a beautiful MESS!!!

The other day at work there was a wedding and these beautiful lilies were left, so of course they were going to get thrown away. I got permission to take them home to make my apartment look just beautiful, but little did I know these little beauties would make the biggest mess. I didn't realize the pollen would get on everything it touched...and it did! All over my face, white work shirt, and cream colored upholstery in my car. AND the worst part about it was I left work at 10pm, so it was dark, and I did not realize that my car and I were covered in pollen until I got home and my lovely roommate started laughing at me! So like always I burn whatever I touch and ruined the $269 car detailing I have gotten a month ago (at least I bought it on Groupon for $69-thank you Groupon!), had to throw away a shitty work shirt, and wasted a lot of time cleaning up....oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles.
MMM cookies sound good right now, how about a ginger snap???
Some good writing

So many call it trash TV, others make it their weekly guilty pleasure and yet others don't even know it exists. I am of course talking about two of the latest trends in pop-culture: Glee and Gossip Girl. Yes, you kind of have to be living in a hole to not know that Glee exists- its weekly airing on prime-time television captures audiences of all ages. Both shows of course live off stereotypes and play up roles only a few fortunate (or unfortunate in the case of Jenny on GG) actual lead in real life. Both are laced with innuendoes, teen drinking, the idea that sex sells, and many other controversial scenes, but what both have in my opinion is great dialogue, or script writing! Kudos to the writers of both shows. Their way with words continue to get me from week to week. As silly as Blair's acting may be, as hot as Chuck Bass may be, and as annoying as Vanessa may be from week to week, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage adaptation of Cecily von Ziegesar novel captivates me and I can't seem to get enough. As Kristen Bell open and closes each episode I almost get a hard on as the words wind through another juicy, gossip filled tale.....someday I will write like this too and be responsible for another phenomena such as Glee or Gossip Girl. "XOXO You know you love me!" AND "I just prefer to think of the homleess as outdoorsy. So shine on urban campers!"

Socially responsibility...everyones doing it
Tonight I attended the 2010 Exxonmobil Lecture Series on social responsibility. it was a great discussion on the everyday struggles of how the advertising world can be socially responsible....in a good way. i think that the UNICEF campaign for clean water definitely speaks to the messages I heard tonight. To check out the info on the lecture series go to smu.edu/exxonmobil
Can we shower pool? It'll save the world
And this is what I love about advertising...quirky new ways to look at the things we do everyday....

AirTran acquired by Southwest
I love hearing others opinions, but sometimes I just want to raise my hand and politely say "Really?!?!" I had this moment the other day in class when we had a guest speaker, Diana Fannon, a principal from the Richard's Group. She was giving a wonderful speech on branding oneself to go out in the work place and the image we portray. During her talk she did an activity that had something to do with image and what not- honestly I can't remember now.....but anyways she said something about everyone knows the image that Southwest Airlines has worked so hard to portray...then I lost respect for her, got hung up, and didn't listen to much else. She said," I worry about Southwest because Airtran is completely different and doesn't embody the ideals of Southwest."
So, when was the last time she ACTUALLY flew Airtran? She probably never has- she seemed a little to "good" for that airline. HA anyways why I really got hung up on the comment was because three days before I had just flown Airtran to and from Chicago. I was pleasantly surprised with the service and friendliness of the airline. Everyone I came in contact with seemed genuinely nice and happy. On each flight the captain walked up and down the isle greeting customers and assuring us he was a good pilot...on one flight the "good-ole-pilot" from Arkansas even played his harmonica and sung to us while we were delayed on the runway.....
Pretty close to what Southwest stands for, right? They have either had several talks on "branding" the airline to fit the image of Southwest, or Diana misspoke...I choose the later....way to go Airtran, keep it up!

Let's be in "keep the baby" kind of love
Let's go to the woods and make love. Let's never come back to reality and be grown-ups. We should escape and chase the sun. Stay up all night and sleep all day. Drink till we're silly and live like nomads. Get rid of all our possessions, grab a back-pack and go! How about we give up our fears, hold hands, and GO. What harm will it do? Who will care?

I want to be smart!
I've always wanted to be smart. Not just smart in the sense that I can solve a few math problems, know a few big words, and impress people every now and then, but "piss in your pants, holy-shit this chick is a genius" smart. Well, today I definitely feel the exact opposite; dull as a stick, so stupid even the short-bus wouldn't pick me up dumb. I feel like I know nothing about anything...and the best answer most people have down here in the bible-belt, "oh I'll pray for you!" REALLY what will that do. Will jesus appear to me in a grill cheese and help me accomplish everything I wish to accomplish? Probably not!
I;m thirsty for knowledge. For understanding. TO be able to engage in meaningful conversations about EVERYTHING! I want to know how to write killer lines and talk about silly details of every movie out in theaters. I want to know bigger words, read more books, go do more things, be more social...uuuuggggghhhhhh I WANT TO BE SMARTER
*Clearly today has been slightly frustrating

DENVER!

I'm ready to move to Denver! I was there just this past weekend and the weather was beautiful. I am ready to be in a place that is less pretentious than Dallas, that has much better scenery, and will be a great place to spend a few years. This is the condo I'll be moving into in December...isn't it great?
My new garden

Check out all my new plant babies! Aren't they so cute! I know this isn't the right time of the year to start a garden, but hey this is Texas right? Anything can happen! I have a little basil, a little ivy, some sunflowers, and okra! Gardening is actually really fun and relaxing! Now that I have a new hobby, it'll be fun to see how they grow and do this winter!

Summer

WOW! How did the summer come and go so quickly? Like always I thought I'd do big things including writing on here frequently and putting my two sense in....but I didn't! HA Isn't that how it always goes?
So I spent my summer doing an internship with Resistol Arena home of the Mesquite Championship Rodeo. It was quite an experience. I grew up in Mesquite, but only went to the rodeo a few times over the years, so it was like a whole new world. After getting use to the twangs and silly cowboy sayings, I learned a lot about cowboy culture and way of life...which is pretty interesting.
The summer experience really was enlightening.....so, now that the school year is up in rolling I am going to commit myself to blog more and dive head first into every endeavor because you can always learn something.

Justin Timberlake following the masses?
Don't quite know how I feel about this yet. I always like Justin Timberlake for not only his looks, but his seemingly creative talents as well. It doesn't seem to be getting good feed-back, but it definitely fits in line with the majority of liquor/alcohol marketing. I would have like to see him to something a little different from the norm. Sure you can say a sex-driven spot from a woman's point of view is different, but is it really? We do need more artist branching out and using their talents in various areas, but this just furthers frustration and doubt on behalf of the consumer. Good try though Justin- you still have my favor, so let's see what's next.
